Christina Newland iNews.co.uk Chalamet remains a highlight of the film. He bears an impressive physical resemblance to early 60s Dylan, and he’s nailed the slightly nasal gruffness of the singing voice. Rated: 3/5 Jan 17, 2025 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator It’s captivating, even if you could argue that it’s dramatically underpowered. The events building up to Newport are listless in nature, but it has a seductive, meditative, cumulative power. I wasn’t bored for a single second. Jan 16, 2025 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times If you can endure Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo (a version of the late Suze Rotolo) watching Dylan sing It Ain’t Me Babe with Baez and weepily realise that, yes, it ain’t Sylvie, babe, then you can also endure the rest of the Walk Hard clunkiness. Rated: 3/5 Jan 16, 2025 Full Review Sarah Gopaul Digital Journal Chalamet’s performance is remarkably good. The opening scenes seem a bit shaky, but as the film goes on, he grows more comfortable in Dylan’s skin and the impersonation becomes more convincing. The same can be said about his singing. Jan 20, 2025 Full Review Julian Wood FILMINK (Australia) [Chalamet’s] performance alone is worth the price of the ticket. Rated: 18/20 Jan 20, 2025 Full Review Sean P. Means The Movie Cricket Was [Dylan] the troubadour for an unsettled age, or (as Don McLean pegged him in “American Pie”) a “jester … in a coat he borrowed from James Dean and a voice that came from you and me”? Mangold entertains both ideas, and Chalamet brings them alive. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 18, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

amh Chalamette is very good !! Story is interesting Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review cj I really enjoyed this move and I could totally relate to it since I am from that era. (72 years old) But my daughter (49) loved it, as well. I knew every word of every song. I really appreciate lyrics and miss the songs from those days. The actor was outstanding and probably better looking than the original:) Dylan is right in line with Van Morrison for me and I recently took my kids to see him in Vegas (2023) live. Love being able to share this with my children! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review Dawn Remarkable performances, including musically, by all the leading cast members. I completely accepted Chalamet as Dylan, full-stop. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review rebramp Exceptional overview of Dylan. Great performances. Must see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Chris Z. The story and musical performances are great. Chalamet’s Dylan accent and tics just felt too theatrical. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review mark b Fabulous movie. Beautiful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Read all reviews
