A.A. Dowd IGN Movies A little extra TV-14 gore and David Schwimmer’s committed attempt to out-dork Justin Long are welcome, but they can’t dispel the sense that this is a mad science experiment gone wrong, an ill-conceived attempt to turn Goosebumps into Riverdale. Rated: 5/10 Jan 6, 2025 Full Review Kristen Maldonado Pop Culture Planet This season introduces us to a rising ensemble that come together against mysterious alien creatures that we still don’t know much about by the end. While there are gross out Venom symbiote-style moments, the episodes felt uneven when it came to horror. Jan 17, 2025 Full Review Jerrica Tisdale Tell-Tale TV If you enjoy David Schwimmer, the season caters to that love, but it’s one of the ways this season doesn’t feel made for a younger audience. Rated: 3.75/5 Jan 15, 2025 Full Review Joel Keller Decider Goosebumps: The Vanishing has an interesting, scary mystery at its center, as well as good performances from Schwimmer, McCarthy and Bartels. Jan 11, 2025 Full Review Andrew Mack ScreenAnarchy A great series for young horror families to enjoy together. Out of its target audience, the most who will gain anything from a series like this will be the Tweens. Jan 10, 2025 Full Review Ben Gibbons Screen Rant Goosebumps: The Vanishing fails to set itself apart from season 1, and ultimately delivers a lackluster experience that fails to engage the audience. D3Z 1 The second season titled as Goosebumps: The Vanishing is much better constructed than their previous season in which even though there were a couple of pacing issues, the show not only showcased its mysterious and scary tonal elements well, but the performances of the cast was well done especially with David Schwimmer. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Audience Member All characters are horrible people... why?. There is one latina character, but it is so irrelevant for the story and only works as the male protagonist love interest and reason for the conflict with stereotypical bully. The story references lots of the books, but also... those books were referencing classic stories, so nothing new there. I like the first Disney plus series better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Daniel B There was certainly a chance this could have been good but as the series goes on it becomes clear that rather than telling one good, cohesive story they're just trying to come up with an excuse to combine as many of the original books into one series as possible. Disapointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review Audience Member It’s a really fun adaptation of the books with really great references and do not forget about the great acting from all the actors, really great music, and really great comedy, and really great practical affects and so much more. So in conclusion This season is amazing!!!! Go check it out Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review Marissa M I Love the show can’t wait for season 2 of it. Can’t believe they left me at a cliff hanger! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/25 Full Review John M It's fine. Had a lot of potential despite some bad acting. The last few episodes were quite a whiff.
