Audience Member Not at all something I would recommend, show decides to focus more on meaningless plots, feminism, and conversations with dead people rather than the actual detective work we’ve come to know. Season really had some potential. Went horribly downhill after episode two. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review Joe J Its not terrible but its not True Detective. Why is there a big paranormal element to this? In S1 Rust had visions but in this there are ghosts that lead people to evidence. Its just dumb. Also Kali/her character is annoying af. Season 3 wasn’t bad, but truthfully, none have ever come close to how amazing the first season is. True Night’s acting was better than season 2 and the horror aspect was pretty creepy at times. They did a good job with the supernatural side without making it cheesy or cringey. However, I would still rather watch season 1 four times over than waste my time on any other season, including this one. For the love of God HBO, please stop tarnishing True Detective’s name with these awful other seasons. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Marcus B Tf did I just watch? All over the place. Started out intriguing but they had no idea what they wanted this season to actually be. They just threw darts at a wall. Great setting for this show but they didn't use any of the good elements they had to their advantage. The actors did fine but it just doesn't work.
